This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 18, 2007:
The easiest way to be happy is the only way happiness works. Through the process of appreciation. When you just forget about yourself (ego), and find yourself immersed in just being.

Agreed!
The structure works this way: One is, natively as spirit, love, understanding and attention. One sees into this universe through a viewpoint. As one moves through life one attaches opinions, judgments and ideas to that viewpoint. This “collection” is ego. It is valuable to the extent we identify it with ourselves. Wanting someone to look at oneself is needing attention to one's valuable collection. This is automatically a less than happy situation because our basic nature is attention outward.
An example of the above is the “crush”. One MUST have the attention of the other person. Not a very happy situation is it?
To put this into play, really pay attention to someone you're talking with. Really focus on the other person. You'll find yourself liking that person a bunch. And your ability to understand and love who he or she really is will increase.
