Everlasting Life

"This is my body." And with that he held up the bread.

"This is my blood." And with that he held up the wine.
I could see now this early teaching he had first taught us when there were many disciples, before Jesus had said this, and after he had given us this teaching, many who had been with Jesus had fell away, and now there were only us twelve.

"Whoever eats of my flesh and drinks of my blood shall taste everlasting life."

It was just ordinary bread, and ordinary wine (Peter always disagreed and thought it was "magical." Ever since that incident with the loaves and the fishes, he would always be eyeing the food suspiciously).

As I ate the bread and drank the wine, I thought to myself, "Jesus is inside me."

The circle is complete. It's a complete cycle. Nothing really dies, because were all a part of something else. Our bodies are the food of other life, just as we are life.  As I "ate" my master I understood how he was physically a part of me, as he had already become a part of my life as my teacher and guru.
"Keep doing in remembrance of me."

I would remember this always, and this is one of the days I would fondly remember the most before my teacher's crucifixion. I thought of all the times I have eaten in my life, and of all the times I would eat. And I thought to myself that life lives on life, and it created an everlasting cycle of which I was a part of. I would always be doing this in remembrance of the Christ even though all I had to do was eat.

"This is a new covenant" -This is a new understanding between us.

As I sat there and contemplated in silence as we listened to his words, I no longer thought of myself as a body, I know longer thought of myself as my mind, as a thing, as a person. It seemed that as I ate my master, and listened to the teachings he had told us in secret, that he was a part of me as much as I was a part of him. It seemed for a brief instant in this time while we ate, that if the Christ was in everything, and the Christ was a part of me, then I was a part of everything. My consciousness was no longer identified with my body or my mind, and in this space there arose in me a feeling that I was Life Eternal. I had indeed in that very instant, tasted Everlasting Life.

Cool disciple… ;)

God love him… Peter love”d” drama…some religious institutions still …do…Did I say that? looks left, looks right  …snicker…

I often bring up the topic that there was never a beginning and will never be an end.
still raises some eyebrows …

It …has always been…always will be…

Love is too cool to have ever been non-existant…man just had to TRY to explain it.

Thanks for sharing your expressions…of the “circle” we are all part of…beautiful

j (:
